TXTPower has been fighting for consumer and political rights since 2001, and almost six years later, we are on the verge of having one of us in Congress. No, we are not running for party-list representative; TXTPower is strongly endorsing Kabataan Partylist.
We endorse Kabataan Partylist today May 10, 2007 (three years after the fraudulent elections) if only to stress that we do not want the Hello Garci election cheating scandal to be repeated. Cheating most probably cheat Kabataan Partylist of its probable hard-earned victory.
Why Kabataan Partylist?
Kabataan Partylist is the genuine youth partylist — formed by real student and youth groups, and led by authentic young Pinoy leaders. Its platform is pro-youth and pro-people. Its advocacies include education, employment, good governance, human rights, culture, patriotism and consumer welfare.
Kabataan Partylist fully supports TXTPower’s advocacy of consumer and political rights. Kabataan Partylist is 100-percent behind TXTPower in batting for lower prices and better services, in battling abusive big companies, in demanding an end to government neglect of consumer welfare. Kabataan Partylist vows to be the champion and voice of Pinoy texters and telecommunication consumers inside Congress.
Raymond Palatino is the first nominee of Kabataan Partylist. He is a former chairperson of the University of the Philippines Student Council and former president of the National Union of Students of the Philippines. He’s an avid blogger and is a long-standing TXTPower convenor.
According to Jose Rizal, the youth is the nation’s hope. At no other time is hopelessness more pervasive than today. Many young Pinoys are giving up on our country. Many are disillusioned and frustrated.
True to form, Kabataan Partylist dares to inspire us into action and banners the Politics of Hope which we badly need today. It is partylist of boundless optimism and full confidence in the capacity of the youth to help the Philippines attain a bright future.
Kabataan Partylist thus deserves our vote 100 percent.
