GRACE NONO, one of the most significant musician-artists Asia has
produced in recent times, performs in “Full Moon Nights at the
Loop” this Friday, May 16 at 6:30 PM at Mag:net Gallery, ABS-CBN
compound in Quezon City. Called “The Dungan Project-Inter-Tribal,
Cross- Cultural Dialogue through Music and Performance,” the
event caps the day long Lakaran 2003, the 3rd Philippine International
Performance Art Festival, hosted by Mag:net Gallery on the same day.
Admission is free.
Artists featured in the festival include Shin-ichi Arai and Masashi
Kitao (Japan), Helge Meyer and Marco Teubner (Germany), Tony Twigg
and Gina Marie Farley (Australia), Thanom Chapakdee, Padungsak Kochsomoong,
Mongkol Plienbanchang and Nopawan Serevejkul (Thailand), Yuan Mor’o
Ocampo, Gary Chong, Tesa Cornes, Art2Tan/Tan2Art (Philippines).
Activities in the festival start at 3 PM and will include Artists’
Talk, Performance Art Video Presentations, Live Performances and Art
Exchange (Dialogue).
German artists Marco Teubner and Helge Meyer also known as HM2T,
will present a 24-hour performance called “The Long Journey
of Rice”.
Musicians in the Dungan Project include Grace Nono, Bob Aves, Karatuan
Kalanduyan, Ruel Bimmuyag, Nino Hernandez, Nerissa Guevarra, Lionel
Valdellon. “Full Moon Nights at the Loop,” the second
to be held at the commercial center of the Eugenio Lopez Jr.Communications
Center, will be followed by a party of artists and journalists.
